CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR EXHIBITIONS

 

These conditions apply to art exhibitions held by The Launceston Art Society Inc.  Some exhibitions may have Special Conditions of Entry which will be outlined in the newsletter and on the website prior to that exhibition.

  1. Work will only be accepted from artists who were financial or prior to the exhibition.

  2. Entry forms must be completed and returned by the advertised closing date.  Entry fees may be paid via direct deposit, or paid via EFTPOS on the day of delivery.

  3. All work must be no more than , the original work of the exhibitor and not previously exhibited in an LAS exhibition.

  4. All work to be exhibited must be delivered to the exhibition venue on the advertised delivery date and at the correct time. Late entries will not be accepted, except at the discretion of the Exhibitions Co-ordinator.

  5. A label with the artist’s name, contact details, medium and price of work is to be securely fixed to the BACK LOWER RIGHTHAND SIDE (back view). Artist’s statements will not be hung beside the work unless it is a specific condition for the exhibition.

  6. Selection of paintings for display may be by the judges or members of the committee. Not all exhibitions will have judges and awards. Judges will be appointed by the LAS committee for the selection of all awards. Judges do not consult with the LAS committee and their decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into. Most artworks will be displayed if Conditions of Entry are followed and space permits.

  7. No work, after it has been accepted and hung, shall be moved nor removed from the venue until the exhibition has closed

  8. All artworks must be well framed and have wire (not cord) and D rings for hanging. Unframed canvases are considered suitable as long as the edges are tidy. Wire (not cord) and D rings are also required on canvases.

  9. Each member may submit works.Hanging space is limited and we can only accept eight large paintings with a maximum size of 1 metre wide x 1.5 deep.These will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.All other works should be limited to 70cm x 70cm.Please contact the exhibitions co-ordinator if you are in any doubt.

  10. Please note that all exhibitors are required to sit in attendance at the exhibition to welcome guests, answer any queries about the works, and most importantly, sell paintings.

  11. Artists agree that images of their work may be used for promotional purposes, eg Facebook, website, flyers etc.

  12. All entries be for sale and a 20% commission will apply.

  13. A non-refundable display fee of $10 per first painting, and $5 per second painting will apply.

  14. Paintings, both sold and unsold, need to be collected at the advertised collection time.All care will be taken with work, but LAS will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of any work in the exhibition. Artists are advised to insure their own work.

  15. Artists who have a registered ABN are responsible for their own GST.
