Clare Holder is a Launceston-based artist who in recent years has won several major awards at LAS exhibitions.
For the past ten years Clare has been a student and now teacher at the Brisbane Street Art School in Launceston, assisting Leoni Duff and teaching a Classical Drawing class. She also co-runs a popular weekly Sketch group using clothed models as subjects.
She has participated in numerous workshops with local, interstate and overseas tutors, in pastel, oil, charcoal and watercolour.
She paints a range of subjects (portraiture, still life and landscape), with a particular passion for figurative work.
Whenever she can, Clare loves to work en plein air and from life as it provides an endless source of inspiration,  and brings life and energy to her work.
