The time frame for this will be 8th June to July 6th. This will give you 30 days to knock out a masterpiece.
The photographs you send us will form the basis for judging, and the criteria for this judging will be
- Mastery of materials – does the work exhibit a confidence with the chosen medium(s)
- Creativity and originality of subject matter – does the work portray the subject in an innovative and original manner
- Is the composition unified, does it draw the observer into the work?
- Value – do the tonal contrasts enhance the work?
- Colour – does the use of colour exhibit an understanding of colour relationships?
- Does the work have a “wow” factor?
The winning entry, and four or five others, will be published on our Facebook page and website, together with the judging commentary. As an added bonus, your work will be displayed with details of a purchase price, size and medium. Any prospective purchasers will be put in contact with you, and you may organise the sale and delivery of the work yourselves.
Want more? Those artworks that don’t make it to the Facebook page will still be scored on the above criteria, and we think this will provide you with some very useful feedback as to your strengths and weaknesses. The object of this exercise will be to give everyone a small degree of feedback on their work which we hope will be helpful to them.
There will be no entry fee for this, and we won’t be charging commissions, but if the enterprise is successful we hope to expand the scope of the exhibition.
